“Nerds to go did a great job for us. My parents are older and it’s hard for me to do things like set up their computer, or take care of problems as they arise. This surface has been a godsend for us, as they will actually go to my parents!”Nick

Hi there! I'm Michael Triolo, the proud owner of the Cary, NC NerdsToGo franchise. Cary is the seventh-largest municipality in North Carolina and is home to a variety of professionals and businesses in the information technology, software, smart grid technology, and biomedical industries. It's also an outdoor lover's dream, boasting 2,688 acres of parks, 80 miles of paved greenways, and nearly 143 miles of proposed greenways. At NerdsToGo, we're proud to call Cary home and look forward to helping local residents improve their tech experiences.

Prior to opening NerdsToGo, my career journey began as a professional pilot, a path I pursued for about 15 years. Right out of college I became a flight instructor, and from there I joined Continental Express, where I spent eight years flying regional jets.

By 2008 I decided it was time for a change. A couple close friends were starting an IT consulting business, and with their encouragement, I bought in. I had no formal training in IT, so I learned on the job from my partners who already had a lot of experience from working at companies like Microsoft and Bose. It worked, and pretty quickly we grew the business, expanding from three to 30 employees.

After selling my share in this business and a brief period in Virginia where I dabbled in real estate, I realized I had a passion and a desire to start a new venture. This time though I didn’t have partners to lean on, and I knew I would need support . That led me to look at franchise opportunities, and from there I discovered NerdsToGo.

When I'm not managing my team of certified Nerds, you can find me on the tennis court or in the sky teaching new pilots how to fly. I'm also a guitar enthusiast - I've been learning to play for 30 years!
